Overview
Founded in 1956, The Awty International School is a private, coeducational, college preparatory day school enrolling 1100 students in Preschool through Grade 12. In addition to providing a strong basis in traditional academic subjects, The Awty International School strives to instill in its students an awareness of and appreciation for the diversity among nations.
Approximately 40 percent of the students are American citizens followed by French and British citizens. In all, 60 countries are represented including Australia, Belgium, Egypt, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway, and Russia .
Seeking to broaden understanding of diverse cultures, The Awty International School offers its students two academic programs: a traditional American college preparatory curriculum, leading to the International Baccalaureate and a program, approved by the French Government, leading to the French Baccalauréat.
The American high school diploma is conferred on all qualified candidates. Graduates are presently attending many fine institutions including Brown University, Carnegie Mellon University, Dartmouth University, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, McGill University ( Canada ), Rice University, Stanford University, Swarthmore College, University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, University of Texas ( Austin ), University of Warwick ( England ), Williams College, Yale University, and many other schools throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
